I lost my soul mate of 42 years on Thursday evening. Can't believe he has gone. We were with him to the end, telling him much we loved him. It is so hard without him.

Thank you to everyone who has left messages of sympathy. My husband had IPF for 3 years and fought so hard to try to overcome it. I love him so much and just don't know what I am going to do without him.

I am so so so sad for you - how dreadful. Please take consolation from the fact that you were with him and were able to tell him how much you loved him. It must be so difficult, I can only imagine. My best friend was left without her husband and slowly was able to get on with life. You must be kind to yourself, it will be a slow process. Hang on to those good memories. So sorry to hear your sad news. When my aunt lost her husband, she put his photo centre stage and talks to him every day, telling him news and dicussing what she should do It is comforting and also has helped to remind her that he would want her to live well and be happy. x
