I'm on long term steroids, quite a big dose (6) when I was on 8 I had very shaky hands but this has improved since I reduced to 6, however I have very numb fingers....has anyone else had this?? (I realise that it might not be related and do intend to ask my Cons about it)

numb fingers
Hi Mrs Shimmy, I frequently get numb fingers, they go really white, sometimes it happens when I am typing and also when driving, and at other times for no reason. I was told by the respiratory nurse it could be reynauds and to always keep my hands warm, I think it is to do with circulation. I also get purple fingers sometimes.
I don't think it has anything to do with steroids but someone might know different.
polly xx
I've got crumbly nails too....anoying isnt it!!
I think it is probably a circulation problem might be worth asking your resp nurse.

I was on 12 tablets which has been reduced to 8 and have numb and fingers and toes. When I asked my consultant he said it was a side effect of Pred.
For some time I have had numb big toes and sometimes also my index finger. The doctor said it was probably peripheral neuropathy, sometomes related to type 2 diabetes (which I have been just told I have).
See your doctor asap.
