Second night of reflux, have not had it for while and the last two nights it has been really bad, it is still lingering this morning and I fell like I have been kicked by a horse just under my sternum.
Have had my lorezapam, azithromycin and thyroxine this morning so think I will have a couple of tbs of gaviscon before my toast hope that works, if not think I will pop and see the chemist.

Oh you poor thing, I suffer from reflux and have hiatus hernia so I know exactly what you're going through I take Lansoprazole daily along with Maalox Plus which can be taken anytime as and when and I sleep upright in my bed (adjustable bed) with four pillows, unfortunately I can't take Gaviscon as it's sets me tubes into spasm. Wish I could help more take care.
Poor you Polly! Lansoprazole is good but last time I had an appointment with the pharmacist to assess my drugs, she told me there is a definite link between CDiff when you take it regularly and have a lot of antibiotics. I have managed to cut down to one a day and take tagamet and liquid gavascon. But still I do have problems. I was not aware of this link so made a decision to try and cut down. I have to have a lot of antibiotics and my lovely cousin died of cdiff so I thought it best to try and improve my odds against it.
I have found that taking natural Papaya tablets (ORANGE CHEWABLE) have helped me when I have either had indigestion or acid reflux. If you decide to try it you may have to check with your GP. These tablets are only avaiable from Healthfood stores.
If you are interested I will give you the Brand Name.
I have suffered with acid reflux for years and after my bypass I was given omeprazole and then after a year was given Ranitidene which I still take. My starting dose was 300 mg a day twice a day and I was still getting excess acid! I reduced it (after an argument with my GP) down to 150 mg twice a day and I had less attacks and did not feel any worse.
Very occasionally I have excess acid and I have a small drink of milk and It eases wonderfully. Be careful, drink too much milk and it starts all over again!
