Just like busses...!

Yes, it's true! Just like the busses, things always come in threes! So now, to add to the broken wrist and the bruised bum, my dearly beloved and I have both gone down with this rotten winter bug. Not COVID, not Flu - just the chest infection and generally feeling rubbish!

But we're still functioning (just about) and don't yet need to call for the cavalry.

His Man Flu is obviously FAR worse than mine, but I'll let him off ' cos he's 80 now and so thinks he's entitled to a little wallow. 🤣 (No doubt Don will have something to say about that!)

The good news is that we haven't lost our appetites and we've already got the Christmas choccies in!! Yay! There's always a silver lining, I say, and if chocolate's involved, I'm happy to go with that one.

Yesterday, I felt the steroids and antibiotics were doing something as I felt better after starting them on Monday, but today that bubble seems to have burst!

At least we don't need to go out for anything and have family, friends and neighbours who will make sure we won't be chewing the carpet in starving desperation!

The big question of the day is whether or not my dearly beloved will survive another night as I had to abandon the bed at 5am due to his snoring! I'll come back to you on that one! 🤣

I now feel satisfied that we've had our three pre-Christmas disasters so should be fine by the big day and super fine in time to see in the new year.

Forgive my ramblings but hubby's not in the right frame of mind to listen to my nonsense (especially the snoring bit 'cos apparently he doesn't snore and it's a figment of my imagination!).

Hope you are all keeping away from the nasty bugs out there - well, most of you anyway, I know some have already got things going on.

All the best and I'll try and stay out of trouble for the foreseeable future!

😉❤️Xx Moy

Oh no! There are some horrible bugs going around and I hope they don’t come our way. Poor you and hubby too of course. Hope you feel better soon and please don’t try and harm your hubby over his snoring. Of course he doesn’t snore! Neither does Pete, that’s why I wear earplugs.😂

Get well soon and enjoy the choccies. Xxx❤️🎅🏻🤗

You are remarkably cheerful Moy under the circumstances. Hope you will both soon be better xx

Well, there are much worse things happening in the world. We are warm and have food (and the Christmas chocs that are going to need replenishing soon!) and we are lucky enough to still have each other. I think those are blessings aplenty so am not going to stress over the rest. It's good to be able to share it on here, though, as all you lovely HU friends have a knack of making things feel OK, even if they're not.

Love you all for it!

Good grief! What a bummer Moy. So many bugs around right now. Maybe you should have broken that plate . . . Hope you both feel better soon. (I have the snoring problem with Rita)

Putting that about the snoring in writing is extremely brave of you! Where should I send the wreath? 🤣Xx Moy

So glad the dreaded three's are now over for you Moy. I love your sense of humour and think it stands you in good stead facing the problems you have had just recently. My eldest sister used to say how terrible her husbands snore were, we didnt realise just how bad until they slept over, it sounded like a lorry and so loud you could hear him in the next room, so do sympathise. It sounds like your ab's are kicking in so will wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and hope you have plenty of chocs in to get you through the festive season x

My poor daughter often sleeps downstairs when her husband starts snoring and she can still hear him! He really should get it checked out but won't because he 'doesn't snore'! What is it with these men?!Mine didn't snore last night, I'm pleased to say, so he lives to fight another day.

He's feeling a bit better today, but my sats are down so am speaking to the Doctor later.

Decided to see if I could get a shopping delivery slot yesterday. Wasn't expecting to so couldn't believe my eyes when one for tonight appeared while I was looking at a completely full screen. Someone must have cancelled at that very moment. How lucky was that?!

So tonight we have more food and, more importantly, we'll have more chocolate! Hooray for Sainsburys.

Sorry you have had another prob to add to existing ones. My sister had the virus around two months ago since when shes had two cold like bugs needing steroids ect as she is asthmatic. Hoping to recover for Christmas like you as its her hat trick. Best wishes MoyB xx

Thank you. That's interesting to know about your sister. I'm also asthmatic and had COVID about 7 weeks ago. When this started the cough was exactly the same but lft was negative. My husband tested the next day as he had the same symptoms by then and he was negative too. I feel sure there is a connection, or perhaps we're just more succeptible to colds having kept away from them for the past two years.

I hope your sister gets over it for Christmas and no one else gets it.

Have a good Christmas. Xx Moy

Hope you are both feeling better now. Yes, my hubby is awful to sleep with when he has manflu. That's why we've got two full length sofas in the house, so I can choose how far away from him I want to be when I have to leave him to it overnight.

👍😉Sounds like a good plan! Hope you don't need to use it for a while! Sweet dreams tonight?! 🤣Xx Moy

Morning Moy B, hope you are slowly recovering . My sister is hopeing to be better for Christmas or at least the new year. I think the virus leaves your resistance low to colds ect. It took me three months to get over the virus and the cough to die down to normal again. Think more research is needed in the case of people with lung conditions , I am on a virus watch research which tracks the weekly outcomes and results of vaccine. Stay safe and well and enjoy the festive season best you can. Think in this weather home is best.
