My mum and dad have hired a wheelchair and asked me to go with them to Porthcawl hopefully as long as the sun comes out. Its got to the point now that dad can't hardly walk far now and mam hasn't the strength to push him but as fantastic as he is, he refuses to be beaten and accepted his limitations, hence the wheelchair. Hence me, the hired help lol!
Porthcawl holds such special memories for them as a couple and us as a family and we havn't been able to go this year at all. Weve gone every year for days out or a holiday and we love just doing the simplest of things.......sitting watching the sea, taking a flask of tea, getting a bag of chips...............
So please everyone cross your fingers, your legs and whatever else you got to cross...........

well I have got up this morning and the sun is out , enjoy your trip to the seaside (i am envious) and I will go to my friends wedding...hopping my cough behaves lol
We only live 40 minutes drive from Porthcawl so are very often there. Go into the high street and you can hire a mobility scooter. They are quite cheap and much easier than using a pushchair. They can be hired by the half day, day, or even the week. The great thing about Porthcawl is it is flat. Enjoy whatever the weather. This weekend is the Elvis festival. Elvis Presley is everywhere. laughs. The high tide is recommended. Both for entertainment, and meals. Enjoy
Well, elvis is definitely alive and kicking lol! And his many brothers and sisters, it was great. The atmosphere was fantastic. Didn't know about the hire of the scooter, it was so hard pushing dad, my mum would never have been able to do it. I'll check it out thanks. We went into a little cafe in town, it was nice. We live about an hour away so not too far. Would love to live there and mam n dad would. Maybe one day eh?!
Two scooters and you will be the one trying to keep up with your parent. Enjoy every day weather is not important only the time you have with the family, happiness for all your days.
I'm back! We had a fantastic day so thankyou sunshine........I'm sure it shone just for dad today. We sat outside the car overlookin the sea, had a nice cuppa and a right good laugh. Didn't get the bag of chips though, went into a nice little cafe instead and had a nice meal. So weve done it, dad has had his day and it was soooo nice seeing mum and dad laugh together. Love you both xxxxxxxxxxxx
