" The scan has confirmed the presence of quite extensive emphysema in both lungs. The emphysema is worse at the top of your lungs and then gets better towards the bottom of your lungs. There is no evidence that normal lung tissue has been compressed and therefore we would derive little benefit from surgical intervention to remove the affected parts of the lungs at this moment in time. "
When I smoked I didn't take it in all the way down so that makes sense. Thankfully nothing else showed up. Let's see how things go from here.
Oxygen test tomorrow.
Echo scan over my hear as well. Just a precautionary check up I think.

sorry to read you have extensive emphysema in both your lungs. It is good that nothing else showed up so pleased for you.
Hope all goes well tomorrow for your oxygen test, let us know what happens xx
Glad you are getting all the tests done puff, I always find getting a clear diagnosis actually help us find a way forward in managing the illness. Keeping fingers crossed blood 02 saturations are good and the dear old ticker is doing a good job for you.
It will be good to get some guidance on the blood sats, good wishes for your tests today. Glad to hear the ticker is doing a grand job Keep us posted. Auntymary
I too have the same, severe emphysema in both lungs, but unfortunately I also have a 'dicky ticker'. Not on oxygen though, so I guess I'm lucky. Take care and may the 'not feeling too bad at the moment' moments last for a very long time x
Had an Echocardiogram today. Heart in good condition. Also had a check for oxygen level in the bloodstream. A little under what they'd like so are putting me on half a litre for 15 hours mainly at night. It's such a small amount I may have to use a children's concentrator !
