New Ct scan

Good morning all .I wanted to ask . I recently had a ct scan done because my chest pain was really bad and so they wanted to check things out .

The results came back and now it shows I have emphysema and fibrosis. Before it only ever showed the bronchectasis in both lungs but now its showing these.

I suffer from asthma as well but now I just feel my lungs are getting worse . 🙃

🤔 should I be worried

Make sure whoever read your scan is an expert in bronchiectasis. It can be mistaken for emphesyma on scans and the fibrotic tissue around it mis -interpreted. Not all radiologists get it right. This has happened to me on more than one occasion. You need to speak to an expert - to know exactly what you are dealing with.

Hi, I can only echo what others have said. You need an experienced lung specialistwho knows what they are talking about. Bronciectasis is one of the les common lung problems, but one that is easy to be misdiagnosed. take care, Chris.
