Dizzy spells

Hi all, I have COPD, just lately iv been getting

Dizzy spells and lightheadeness,does any one else

Get this and if so has the doctors toldu what it is? X

Hi Claire, I am newly diagnosed but before diagnosis I noticed that every time I laughed heartily I felt dizzy. It had become noticeable with my friends. This morning I yawned and felt faint! I have forgotten to mention this to my Doctor, but will pop it on my 'copd doctor list!'. Something to do with shortage of air in the lungs? Perhaps someone will know. x

Hi Claire. I also get very dizzy spells and as I have severe copd and Chronic Hyperventilation Syndrome, the dizzy, light headedness is down to my breathing, it can also be down to medication,so best to speak to your Dr and see if they can tell you what is causing it for you. Its a horrible feeling, so I do sympathize with you and hope you get it sorted out very soon, luv Lorraine x

For me it was high blood pressure, something I have never suffered with before. It would be a good idea to get checked out with your GP though.

get your physician to check -out POTS if dizzy when you stand (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) do not hang all your symptoms on the COPD hook without checking them out with tests

Hi Claire I was diagnosed with copd last month and asked the same questioned on this site but also said I had given up ciggies when diagnosed so thought maybe this was the reason for the dizzy lightheaded feeling horrible isnt it had a couple of replys saying might be lack of nicotine. I have hospital appointment this Wednesday to do with copd will ask the question and let you now what the answer is.In the meantime take care

Wednesday with my gp.
