Hi Wabbit - can't remember where but I remember reading recently that e cigs are a danger to the lungs too. I do know some have caught on fire resulting in a very unhealthy dose of smoke inhalation. Also, don't you still inhale some sort of steam or heated vapour with these? Sorry not to be more clear than that but all in all , wouldn't risk it if it were me. Best wishes, Parvati :)

Hi

I was looking into this the other day for someone - you still inhale "vapour" which will contain some of the chemicals found in normal cigs - so I think it's not that straight forward. I did read that research is planned to look into the usefulness of the e-cigarettes in stopping smoking.

Thanks

Mark

I have had an e-cigarette for the past twelve months and it's helped me to cut my smoking from around 40 per day down to 6 or 7 and, eventually, I hope to be able to eliminate those 6 or 7 too.

Whilst I know that the e-cigarettes haven't been subject to exhaustive medical trials I do believe that they have to be better than all the tar and associated gunk that goes into my lungs through smoking tobacco. The nicotine is contained and inhaled through a vapour, satisfying the craving.

If the electronic 'cigarette' is bought from a reputable source then I shouldn't think there would be problems with them catching fire.

If you are interested Wabbit then I'll let you have the web address of the site where I bought mine and you'll get a discount of £20 off your first order :)

Good luck !

I have heard you can get large amounts of nicotine which is dangerous/deadly with no regulations to keep you safe when using this method at least patches have a measured dose on them.

not sure about safe now there was nothing about the bad things just that they can be smoked any place even where there is no smoking allowed because they are different to cigarettes thanks for thinking about it

Hi, the best two things I,ve done is to go to Pulmonary Rehab and give up smoking. No matter what anyone says it very very hard to give up smoking, It took me 8 times, not had a fag for well over 2 years.

Yes best not to smoke at all, there is no sense in making things worse than they are.

kind Regards Ethel
