I love the sea view. I always wanted to live by the sea, not to swim in it, just to watch it, and I hate the way sand from the beach goes everywhere. Here I am, living on the outskirts of Birmingham, almost as far from the sea you can I get.

Ern007 profile image
Ern007β€’ in reply tohelenlw7

Thank you helen, I like the sea also, weather in UK or abroad when I was able, always chose a seaside resort - I can;t swim so that was not the reason. I live 17 miles from Southport and 28 miles from Blackpool. so distance is not a problem. I never thought of that before, Birmingham not near the north or Irish sea,

I spent my life until I was 18 and went to university, lining in Kendal, so the Lakes and the Fylde coast were my go to places.

Ern007 profile image
Ern007β€’ in reply tohelenlw7

The lakes, sounds good. The Fylde Coast is underestimated I think. Morcambe not far from kendal not the resort it was . I don't drive far these days and my youngest daughter drives Anne and me to Norbreck - Lovely beach scenes and near Blackpool for shopping. As a youngster Blackpool was the place to holiday for many who lived in Lancasire and lots from Scotland also.

Thank you, lot of light in spring and everything so fresh. Yea I like to paint hills pink or purple, I used to do all hills gray, I know which I like best :-) xxx

Yes me too.I am keen on photography. I have put one photo on here but I intend on putting more on.I do garden photography and our dog but we also go to Italy for about 8 weeks a year so there are plenty of photography opportunities there.

I posted a garden photo of a massive codyline in flower, gosh that was good and the scent - Hoever the flower stem so thick, I could not get it out, it rotted and with a very wet winter it died - Other that that and taking shots of mmy painting, I am not great with a camera, my youngest daughter is like you very keen.

Coorwall is nice, and warm, Been once a long time ago, I think was Kynance Cove: Water was turquoise. I live in NW England the other Southern resort was Minehead we went to, was so hot.

Mavaryβ€’ in reply toErn007

Ah tiny ones. What are you doing with them all. You could auction them off on here and give the money to Heath Unlocked whatever they call it now.

Ern007 profile image
Ern007β€’ in reply toMavary

I see y our Idea mavery but, they would have to be sealed and varnished. Nt sure condition of a lot of them - I have sold a few but getting old :-)

Mavary profile image
Mavaryβ€’ in reply toErn007

Oh that’s a shame. I don’t know that a lot of people would worry about that.

Ern007 profile image
Ern007β€’ in reply toMavary

I will have a think about it Mavery - A lot of painting I don't paint the sides, and not easy to do that later. Also I paint most on canvas and come on canvas board, canvas board is no use asa frame is needed. I will look what I have good enough and start using canvas - thenI need boxes and packing, but it may be doable,I willgive it a try when I know what is what.

I learned to swim when I was 10!

At the end of January I was devastated when the leisure centre I had been going to since 2022 shut down as they went bankrupt but now I feel it's a good thing that happened as it got me away from that pharmacy there where I was treated unfairly and now I have left them behind for good and I can focus on the future!

When that pharmacy job ended I was devastated and it felt like the world had ended but life has moved on for the better!

Ern007 profile image
Ern007β€’ in reply toTurnipgirl

I remember as a young lad schooltook usto baths to learn to swim - Part was under supervision and much coaching. we all held the ridge (8) of us that went round the pool - On rder we all let go and we was supposed to sink to the borrom and cme back up. Well 8 off us wend down the side f the pool and 7 floated back up. I got to the ladder and climed out There was no danger we was supervised. I was nor scared, I just could not swim.

Well now you are well away from pharmacy with pool gone, so you have complete clsure n who treatedyou bad. Although I bet you miss the pool.
