Lignosus

I have been seeing adverts for Lignosus on social media. Just wonder if anyone has tried it and had any benefits for Bronchiecstasis? Thanks.

Having had bronch all of my life I am sceptical of any alternative products which make wild claims to benefit it. However, if anybody with bronch has tried lignosus and has genuinely found that it helps with inflammation and congestion I would love to know.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I haven’t been able to find any independent large-scale studies. The pharma industry is unwilling to spend money on trialling natural products, but academic bodies don’t seem to have done so either. I’d happily try it if it had been trialled & found safe and effective, but not otherwise. You have to be so careful with unlicensed products that they don’t clash with other stuff you’re taking 😕

Hello,

Well you could try it. There seem to be an increasing number of herbal supplements available on the market which suggest miraculous results for lung disease, hmmmmmm ? If miracles are possible then the medical profession would be advising their use. I don’t have anything with Mullein in it because it promotes coughing!

In my experience it is often best for an individual to try and see what works for them.

I have tried many. There are two which benefit me.

One is fenugreek seed infusion like a tea. This comes from Ayurveda which is an ancient Indian system of health. I find it very helpful during an exacerbation of COPD and Bronchiectasis.

The other is L-Lysine for managing an outbreak of cold sores. Used early the Lysine is a huge help in stopping a nasty outbreak.

Go well.

Fennel seeds are also good for quietening hunger pangs and settling the stomach.

Make an infusion with a teaspoon of fennel seeds in boiling water, as if you are making tea. I usually use a strainer to hold the seeds in the hot water so that it doesn't get stronger than my preferred taste.

Yes I agree, and I can’t thank you enough for highlighting the predictive text error in my post! It should have read fenugreek rather than fennel. Edited now.

Fennel seed infusion is calming isn’t it ? I used to give to my son when he was a baby 40 years ago.. I use it occasionally for myself now.

Thanks again.

Go well

Hi Pauline I have heard of Fenugreek in the past it is an old tried and tested herb. Agreed everyone is different so its a matter of try and see if it works for you. I am desperatly looking for any thing that might help lung inflammation . Thats all I have now on top of my COPD caused by the tests done at the hospital. Pneumonitis I think is the technical word. Take care

Thats great!! I only really use it when I am having a tough time ie the last months !! hahaaaaaa. I get the seeds from this company where I buy other foods as well. Am sure they will be available from other places as well though.

Let us know your experience with it Swizzy. I hope you find it helps you.

Thanks. I will let you know. Some say that it makes their skin smell. Do you find this?

I haven’t heard that although I could be nose blind if it does. No one has ever mentioned it to me, but I will ask my good friends if they have noticed it all.

Hi Walkonthewildside,

Yes I have used the product due to it being of herbal ingredients and found it very helpful and also anoother called South Moon, both have helped prevent a buildup of mucous and clear my lungs.

It is a real shame that we have to do our own research on other alternatives to help with this rotten disease that most of us suffer on a daily basis. Each of us has to make our own minds up as to how we feel when other health products appear on the internet, for me l will try some alternatives if it helps with my breathing.

Hi, just a note of caution with herbal remedies. Some interact with conventional meds. So it is always worth checking.
