Hi I have booked a cruise for mum and I without realising I have been unable to get travel insurance as she uses a oxygen concentrator, I have had one quote for 8k which is ridiculous but all others have refused to insure, any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi there, we don't have a list of travel insurers but our advice is to contact BIBA, the British Insurance Brokers Association, as they have a directory for people with a medical condition biba.org.uk/find-insurance/

Best of luck, Helpline Team

Have you tried Staysure? I have used them and found them very helpful. I am not on oxygen but have a complicated medical history.

Hi, I did quite a bit if research on this a whole back. ALL clear insurance will cover you , my quote was £5000, do yes it's expensive. If she needs to fly she will need a fit to fly test and can only fly with a continuous flow concentrator and not a pulse one. There a a few cruise lines that now won't permit the th use of oxygen on board. Hope you manage yo sort something out for her.

Thank you, P&O have agreed as long as she has insurance, here lies the problem, all clear have already refused to offer insurance.

first, did you get an ok from the cruise line and ship that they would allow a concentrator in her cabin ect? And have you hired a concentrator for the journey?

I finished up with a Saga cruise last year and did my insurance through there Saga insurance branch (they would be worth a try)I think it cost about £1700 for the 2 weeks.i hired mine from the Oxygen Store cost was £350 plus £300 returnable deposit.

Good luck x
