I'm concerned about this cough
I had a persistent cough in 2012. My gp tried everything to stop it, in the end referring me to a lung specialist. I was diagnosed with ‘difficult to treat asthma’ and bronchiecstasis. I was put on 3 different inhalers and a tablet, montelukast. The cough continued, but a couple of months after I was prescribed an antibiotic, Azithromycin, as a prophylactic, the coughing stopped and hasn’t returned!
I have severe COPD and PH. If I have a cough which is rarely I take Covonia Mucus cough oral solution. . It works for me but we are all different. It contains liquorice also. Hope you sort it soon. Xx.Sheila
coughs are normally caused by bacterial, viral, fungal infections or allergic reaction and anxiety. It’s a case of working out which is the culprit. Mine of 7 years was eventually down to an allergic reaction to stomach acid fumes, Gaviscon stopped it straight away. I’m now on Omeprazole and only cough if I get an infection
Forgive me stating the obvious, but I assume you've had a CT scan? Most important. As you mention you've been diagnosed with bronchiectasis, am guessing that you have had this.
