Should I ask for RSV vaccine

HiI have both Asthma and Bronchiectasis plus other autoimmune disorders and I am wondering if it would be worth me having the RSV vaccination. I am 65 years of age so under the age guidelines.

Officially you are not old enough and surgeries have to refuse under the rules. However my consultant asked them to give it to me and they contacted me to book. My consultant told me that she has done this for several of her patients who would not otherwise qualify and that the GPs were happy to give it at her request.

My GP while sympathetic abided by rules. I did look online. Some private places offer for over 65s but at £200 plus!

Yes only somebody in superior authority such as a consultant can tell the GP to go against the rules. If I hadn't been fortunate for my con to get it for me I would have paid for it.

My Consultant said I am not eligible. I am 64 and immunosuppressed.

My brother in law, who does not have lung disease, qualifies. I do not. Logical??
