This warning just popped up in my emails from Which. I thought it might be useful to post on here. It says……
“Watch out for 'the British Lung Foundation' cold calls
Companies calling themselves ‘UK Energy Hub’ and ‘UK Eco Home Services’ are reportedly pressuring homeowners over the phone to upgrade their loft insulation.
The scammers claim that their insulation products are endorsed by ‘the British Lung Foundation charity’, to add credibility to the con. But the British Lung Foundation no longer exists. “
Hope this helps ???
Go well

Thank you Pauline. I got the email from which too. It made me laugh as the last time they called me I called them scammers and he replied that I’m stupid 🤣.
Keeping a whistle handy to blow down the phone when appropriate might put them off! I usually just thank them and say it's not a priority for me right now. xx
Many many years ago when I was 17 my aunty pat said to us how they had been receiving nuisance calls when there was that Tango drinks advert with the phone number to ring and people had dialled their number by accident and hung up!
Aunty Pat had screamed down the phone and blown a whistle down it!
They had ended up in the paper due to this!
We rang up Tango line and all they said was you've been tangoed!
Yes indeed it’s good to be vigilant. Also to be aware there are a lot of vulnerable people out there that could be taken in.
I had a call from a very efficient woman saying she was phoning about the damp repair reported to the Housing Association. I said. “ Oh yes, and how are you taking it forward?” She went a bit quiet and tried again but I can’t remember what she said other than wanting information. So I said to her, “Well as you have called me to say it’s been reported, then you will know my name, address and what the issue is won’t you, especially as you are the Housing Association itself that it was reported too” - even longer silence. 😂. So she said, “Okay, have a lovely day” and put the phone down! So I phoned the HA purely to let them know so they could maybe highlight it to protect the more vulnerable, but I think she was on a different planet. She was trying to tell me that it was a scam! I tried again and told her I didn’t need telling as I knew it was a scam already and that’s why I was phoning; to let them know. Duh!🙄
