Thanks Biddy, helpful info. Since I moved into a 1950s cottage like home with oil central heating, radiators in most rooms, my sinus has played up.
The radiators are a nightmare to keep dust free, you have to take the sides and tops off, then run a damp brush through all the fins and channels ~ Flippin full time job when not feeling so well! 😷
A little late to reply sorry. Try putting your mask on then getting a hair dryer to blow down the top of the radiators. First time you will get a lot of dust out , after that done on a regular basis no problem just a little. Improves the heat coming through the radiator.
Thank you so much for your reply clematis with this great idea, I will use this blowing method in future, can't help my mind jumping to using a leaf blower all over the house, windows/doors open, mask on, finish off with a water fine mist spray.. job done 🌬
Laughing to myself now, the first time i tried the leaf blower at my daughters house. I do not think rads had been cleaned before. It took a week after i had done them to get rid of all the dust that had flown up , to the ceiling and light fittings, what had not flown up was distributed around all the rooms. I was so happy with what was coming out i did not think to look where it was going.
