Since I had a Cardiac ablation in 2022, I have struggled with not being able to exert myself on exercise. Just recently confirmed moderate hyperinflation, with an 'unfurled pulmonary aorta '.
Did not have breathing issues before the ablation.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have similar?
Thanks v much

There are pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation classes ( I have been to both). The Physios and nurses who run them would help you to exercise within your limits and hopefully improve your fitness. I should have a word with your GP or consultant and see if there is a suitable class near you.
Thanks v much Alberta, will look into it. Do you have hyperinflation of the lung? If so, would u be able to say what your symptoms are ? Thanks v much!
I have hyperinflated lungs as well. The hyperinflation is caused by trapped air so you get short of breath quicker because your lungs no longer have the same amount of room for fresh air to come in because of the trapped air. Pursed lip breathing can help a bit as it helps hold airways open a bit linger allowing some of the trapped air to escape,
Singing for lung health classes can help with trapped air as they strengthen the muscles in a fun way. Or your could try looking up diaphragm exercises on YouTube, or playing a wind instrument like a recorder, harmonica, saxophone, trumpet, etc (but not all at once )
