Impression: Part Native American Village. & Impression of Desert Sunset.

Something different - I got the idea for the first picture from Cowboys and Indian Westerns I used to watch. Cactus include Desert Cactus and Opuntia.

The second picture was just an afterthought - I painted as an impression and in part abstract.

Still a bit Folky - In it?

I like them. What’s wrong with a bit of Folky painting?

Yes quite a few - I painted this for example, one of the best Folk Artist - Maud Lewis aka Maudie. I did some in her red roof style and black cat. I am showing you one I painted on here not long ago, was inspired by Maud Lewis.

White cat inspired by Maud Lewis.

your paintings bring a lot of happiness. Thank you for sharing. I particularly like the hills and sky in the first picture, and am loving the depth of perspective in the second one. That desert seems to go on forever. I’m loving it. Thank you.

I like both Ern. And yes, I'm reminded of childhood cowboy pictures. As for the desert, the cactus in left foreground seems very animated. Is he/she running away. Seriously, a stroke of genius.

Thank you Greenthorn, yes the Opuntias are easy to look animated, they grow every which way,

I like them both but I particularly like the sunset painting , the colours, the shades of orange blending in the foreground and that fantastic sun are beautiful Ern

My Son is in South America at the moment and he says it’s unbearable. 40 something degrees. No wonder they have fires there.

Ern007 in reply to Mavary

Yes 40C is a lot. when I worked for nursery it got to 40C+ in the Greenhouses. I think that was required, we had to drink heaps. It was over 40C when we was in Turkey about 5 years ago, it really was blistering.

I don’t think I could stick that 22 or 23 is enough for me. 23 24 at a hard push.
