Hi Mrs P70

I coughed for 15 years, the GP, Consultant etc dismissed this symptom, one of our fellow Forum members suggested reflux.

I insisted upon an Endoscopy. The results confirmed reflux, “severe”if u don’t mind was the report, after all that. Make sure they go right into the stomach.

Famotidine and Drynol are my new medications prescribed by the hospital, along with my usual asthma ones. I’m a new person.

We have to b proactive.

Best of luck, BERNARDINE

I don’t want to steal your thunder or devalue your cough, but I started coughing in May 2012 and it took lots of visits to my gp, then various lung consultants and several different medications until I stopped coughing - in September 2017!

No, it just miraculously stopped after I’d been on antibiotics as a prophylactic for about two weeks. Prior to this I’d been tried on several different antibiotics even though non of the medics thought I’d got an infection.

You really need to talk to your GP. He /she ought to have the results of the CT scan by now.

Chase up the scan results with your GP - they can chase up Respiratory and order Spirometry tests before the Consultant.

There's a website called Patient Access. You need to fill in a form at your GP and then they email you with various codes. Once registered, you can access all your test results and your CT scan should be on there. Might be worth doing? I find it better than the NHS app as that doesn't show everything. Hope that you get better soon.

I had to wait 8 weeks for my CT result. 8 weeks of worry and stress. Fortunately it was a good result.

Cheer up, it`s not too long till 17th. I`ve just had serious 3 months with RSV leading to copd exacerbation from hell. My daughter has had same cough for 3 months. I`m convinced that the covid lockdown has reduced all of our immunity due to lockdowns etc. Hope you feel better soon.
