got my sputum test back …it’s Normal! Very good news , baffled though as the muck I coughed up was black , still that’s good news feeling better about it now.
Had a CT scan this morning hope that is good too when I get results.
Still got a croaky voice and cough and haven’t had any Trimbow now for four days so We shall see how things go.😊

Shortly before I gave up smoking, I was working as an admin assistant in Path Lab reception. They let me see their specimens of lungs fatally damaged by smoking and by coal smoke pollution. Both stained black all through. Six months after I gave up, I coughed up a lot of black stuff while recovering from being upended in a medical procedure.
Not sure why the test was clear and the mucus was dark but I do know my husband had tests that showed infection whilst the mucus was clear He was once told by the respiratory consultant to put in tests every day for five days, two showed infection and three didn’t 🤷🏻♀️ Just enjoy the relief you’re feeling and hopefully you’ll feel the same when the ct results come through 😊 x
Good that your test was clear but wonder if they should test again as they are not always accurate. Fingers crossed the ct scan will be clear too. Hope you feel better soon x
