i am seeing the consultant tomorrow with regards having lower part of my left lung removed has anyone had this done at St Georges in London its not a hospital i am familiar with and means once there my partner will not be be to visit as its a distance from our home and to expensive to keep travelling up from our home
thank you every one who replied to my question above and for all the good wishes i really appreciated them
saw the consultant and he is said the nodule is 2cm and i will only have to have part of the lower left lobe removed which hopefully will be done in next few weeks he said if i speak to his secretary when she phones there may be a chance of being able to have patient transport or help with the costs as i am a pensioner he explained everything to me about the op and afterwards so i feel reassured and not so nervous about being on my own while in hospital

Not a lung op however, it used to be my local hospital for 20 years so had a long association with it before being referred to the Pulmonary department. It's a university hospital so should have some of the best surgeons. A nasal op, endoscopies, plenty of A&E trips plus my son had a hernia op in his 20s, all those were exemplary. You could try checking out reviews on St George's website until you get more useful replies than mine.. all the best to you.
Another question to add to your post would be "what questions and information do I need to ask the consultant ", perhaps the helpline could help 0300 222 5800 until 5pm today. Good luck
