So it starts

Already the heat is affecting me, last night even with the window open and my fan going the temperature was 21℃,

Yesterday as the day drew on found my chest feeling tight and had to sit in front of my fan, one minute I felt too hot the next felt chilly, no middle ground.

Don't mind me just having a whinge.

You’re not whinging as it is getting very warm now and not easy if you have breathing problems. We’re hoping to get a fan soon as I think we’ll need it.

Hope things will ease for you xxx

whinge away - I’m sure many of us with breathing issues feel the same!

Sit with your feet in cool water that may help. BERNARDINE 🥰

Hi Doggie, You're not whinging at all. I am the same. Most people look forward to the summer heat but it fills me with dread and panic. I can't do much anyway because of lungs and other health issues but the heat just makes it far worse. I keep windows and curtains closed most of the day in the heat🙄. Take care and take it easy xxx

Sorry the heat affects you so early in the summer. Perhaps you'll acclimatise a bit (fingers crossed). Hopefully the temperature will come down a bit next week.

I'm glad I'm in Essex. We've had enough rain, thankyou.

Same in Cumbria but they always threaten thunderstorms after a couple of warm days.

That's not winging , It is darn right annoying for you, I often am the same but my wife tells me "hay a shower and shut up" Very sympathetic lady """ NOT """

She definitely is not a fan.

I agree with Sassy, Breathing Problems are difficult at the best of times And heat and cold affect us in all sorts of ways.

I hope things improve for you.

No problem at all!

It does you good to talk about problems!

It was hot here as well and I had to sleep without the duvet on but managed to come out today and enjoy myself!

I am the same, if it’s too warm i suffer, and too cold is the same. Extremes affects us with our breathing problems that some people wouldn’t understand.

It does help to have a fan gentle on your face and neck.

Take care.

Last night here it was hot again and it felt like a car on a hot day when I came back in at 10.30pm from my day and night out when I decided to treat myself to dinner in the Fox and Hounds before going on to see some plays in the village hall.

I am happy to do some more evenings out in the future as I enjoyed those plays and the Tredegar House folk festival as well.

When I arrived home I received some very bad news that a terminally ill neighbour has died and the police were there and the on call doctor and even though I wasn't surprised it was still a shock though but I'm glad he's at peace and no longer suffering as he was housebound and to me that's no life just a miserable old existence!

When things like that happen it makes you realise how most matters are petty when you put them into context!

It can help to close all the curtains during daylight. In my house, we open fanlight windows on the front and back of the house which give a cooling current of air blowing through, and retire to the rooms on the cooler darker north side of the house in the hottest part of the day.

I'm with you on that. I used to love the hot weather, now I am the complete opposite as the heat affects my breathing so much. No happy medium here cos freezing temperatures don't help either. 🥲

Summer is a very bad time of year for me too! Hope you are managing better soon. xx

I think the biggest problem was the summer came overnight we didn't have time to acclimatise, the heating was on one night and the next I was dragging the quilt off. I am hoping after the thunderstorms we will settle down to a normal temperature, although I must admit to enjoying the sunny warm weather this year and have done loads in the garden. I think the change in inhaler has helped me lot x

I know, it's so annoying and hubbie looks at me as if I'm mad. I find a cold water towel around the neck helps and feet in cold water, I paddle in the dogs' paddling pool 😂. I gave up on people thinking I'm nuts long ago 😂

I can completely relate to the problem. I invested in a ceiling fan, an absolute god send in the heat. I found floor fans didn’t really help much. I also find using a damp tea towel around my shoulders cools me down very nicely. I do enjoy the sunshine but only up to a point, around 23 degrees, humidity is extremely difficult for me….and others I’m sure. Take care one and all in this heat x

We're all entitled to a winged. It's hard going in this heat. The feet in water is a great idea during the day. I also bought one of those neck fans for when I'm on the move. They're a godsend I have to admit. You could try a cool shower before bed? We were promised a thunderstorm yesterday to clear the air but unfortunately it didn't arrive 😂
