COPD and Long Covid

Hi all,

I've been ill for over three years with Long Covid and just last week diagnosed with COPD stage 2.

Looking through my medical history COPD was mentioned back in 2005, but I was told it was Asthma!

Just joined my local Breathe Easy group who are great and very supportive.

Hi Simon,

Good to see you posting here and your long Covid is resolving.

My COPD showed up with Asthma 3 years before I got the COPD diagnosis ( 20 years ago now ) and they do co-exist as a condition called Asthma COPD Overlap Syndrome.

It requires a bit more self management to stay well and good self care plan will help you do that.

Education can really help, learn about yourself and how you respond to your lungs reacting and learn about keeping as well as possible.

There are lots of folk on here who can help and Asthma Lung U.K. have a care plan you can download.

So pleased you have a local Breathe Easy group to attend. They are few and far between these days. The support groups online on Asthma Lung UK are helpful as well.
