Mullien tea

Hi everyone, a little while ago i noticed someone mentioned Mullien tea which is meant to be good for your lungs so i bought a box and its still sitting on my kitchen table. It says on the box to consult with your doctor before drinking it so fat chance of that!

So consulting everyone here - has anyone else tried it and what did you think? Did it help your breathing? Any side effects that you dont want?

Many thanks - the kettle is on 😋

Hi, last January I was bedridden with an awful infection (I think now it must have been pneumonia), couldn't get through to GPs for days for help and too ill for brain to think of calling 111. I was desperate enough to order both Solgar N-Acetyl Cysteine and some Mullien Drops. The N-Acetyl was to supplement my Carbocysteine which is strictly rationed to 2 twice daily. The Mullion Drops (recommended by a client of my back therapist) went under my tongue to hopefully help the incessant coughing which just brought on more asthma. On the whole I think it did help and I'd use it again if in the same position. Of course I cant recommend it on here, just writing of my own desperate experience. Peege ××

I don’t have any side effects from mullein. I’ve tried the tea and the drops. I can’t really say that they have helped either, but I don’t think the tea will hurt if you don’t have it too often.

Hmmmmm, mullein is an expectorant and just made me cough more and more and more - arrrgggghhhhh. If you do plan to use it, would advise you that is the effect...

Drinking more clear fluids through the day works better for me in clearing mucous.

Go well.

Ohhh thankyou Pauline, that is useful to know so the coughing is designed to help clear the lungs. Wont be drinking unless in need if that effect!!
