Hi all, I'm supposed to take my fostair 200/6 twice a day and can't remember if I took tonight's dose, does anyone know if I've already taken it that it's safe to take now just in case. Sorry if it's a stupid question but I can't find the answer. Thanks in advance

Hi

They never recommend taken a double dose, taking in to account the late hour, I would consider leaving it till the morning.

Make a not of the time date and counter number from time to time, this will help you back check.

Your post reminded to take mine, three hours overdue.

Be surprised if a lot of COPDers could sleep without taking their inhaler.

Also, if you are only taking one spray each time, they do allow 2 at a time as well, so taking a double dose shouldn't make much difference.

Out of interest do you take any other inhalers?

Hi

I use Spiriva once daily, Fostair 100/6 two x twice daily, a double dose would be 400/24. Plus Ventolin which you can take during the night if you have a problem.

You can take the 100 more than twice a day if wheezy ect but not the 200 x

Thanks for the reply guys, I had a brainwave just after I posted, I knew when I started the inhaler and forgot about the counter, was on an odd number which means I hadn't taken it lol. Glad some good came of my post reminding you to take yours. Have a good evening everyone.

Hi, I just wanted to say that I don't find the counter on Fostair very reliable. I have had many canisters where the counter has stuck and not given an accurate reading of doses left compared to what I knew I had taken.

I keep a list of daily meds and times to be taken and tick them off each day as I can't always remember either.

I set the alarm on my mobile to remind me to take it at the same time each day .... the grey matter needs a little help sometimes.

Not the 200 but you could if it was the 100 But having said that when I had a viral infection the paramedic at the gps said rather than oral steroids I could use my 200 fostaire 3 time a day ?has it would do less harm than oral steroids x
