i was admitted to hospital on the 6th i had a cold which set off this ILD and asthma. Never been so scared in my life. Was treated with high flow oxygen and other stuff but came very close to being ventilated. I was in hospital for 2 weeks and i’m struggling a bit with mobility. My oxygen drops when moving which makes it hard getting about. Does anybody have any ideas on how i get a wheelchair for the now so i can get out and about. I don’t even know exactly what’s wrong with me other than i have some sort of ILD. I’ve attached my discharge letter. I’m in the uk just not sure what i’m meant to be doing, staying in till i can walk about or seeing about a wheelchair

I was in hospital for 10 weeks earlier this year after a fall. I had reduced mobility when I was discharged and used crutches to get about indoors. They’re not very practical for going out so I bought a wheelchair from Argos and I’m very pleased with it.

Try redcross wheelchair hire, look up on Google to find the nearest branch to you.

They are a charity, so non profit making.

Yes, I used to use the Red Cross wheelchair service for my previous husband before we bought our own. It let us realise how useful a wheelchair would be.

We had one from Red Cross when my son broke his leg. Was a life saver. I think they charge now though but they did have all the attachments that were needed.

thank you all. I’ve contacted adult social services. I don’t want a wheelchair and they think this is just temporary till i heel but i also don’t want to be stuck in the house. Of all the things to be crap at its breathing 🤣
