finding the 2 puffs twice a day just not quite enough now, can it be supplemented by 1 puff of fostair 200/6 without too many problems arising, has anyone done this?

Hi there soppysokes

My respiratory Nurse put me on Trimbow and she said it was all 3 of my puffers in one! I tried it for a week and just didn’t find it like you enough! I am normally on Ventolin Fostair 200 and Eklira. I did not have those puffers in the house as she told me to not get anymore and the Pharmacy told me I would not need them once on the Trimbow! I had to put another perscription in for my old puffers and I am afraid the new Trimbow taken back to the Pharmacy. I do not think you should take the Fostair 200 with it. The only thing Respiratory nurse said I could use of my old puffers was the ventolin before I did my coughing up as I have Bronchiectasis as well as COPD and ashtma.

Hope that helps

Best wishes

Hi Soppysokes. I too am on Trimbow. Just wondering if you are using flow technique with an aerochamber. I have been on inhalers 30 years and in a number of different health areas before a specialist nurse told me about this. It hss made a great difference to me so I am spreading the word. Good luck anyway.

youtu.be/0sjpqANzpw4?si=3im... again jillyd. I found this video from Asthma and Lung Uk, ( controllers of this forum) but best perhaps to ask your respiratory nurse if you are able to make contact with them.

At my last session with the respiratory nurse I was put back on the big spacer after using Aerochamber for years. I was also given an Easychamber which requires breathing in and out through the spacer where my old one was breathe in, remove, breathe out and repeat. I never mastered the new technique this so just use the big spacer. I think the new way was called tidal breathing.

I have an appointment on the 31st so will ask then.

Yes the chamber makes a big difference.

Hi,I am taking Trimbow after being swapped over from Fostair for some reason. My nurse insists that it is active for twelve hours, which of course it isn't,usually wears of by noon or just after.I now take three puffs in the morning,or an extra one at lunchtime which helps, and despite the medical advice against it i have yet to be struck down by a bolt of forked lightning from above..Good luck..

The reason they don't want you taking extra doses is because when your symptoms start to progress that medication isn't going to work at all.

I'm the same, been on Trimbow for a few years & find it doesn't help any more as well. Asked the Dr if I can take extra puffs in the afternoon & told no as should last 12 hours which it doesn't, they don't listen & think they know best. I have also read there is a stronger dose Trimbow which I've read about & again they said there isn't. Why don't they listen. I'm sure if they suffered with COPD they'd be more sympathetic with how it affects us.

Hi im on trimbow there are 2 strengths of trimbow I was on first strength for 5 years now im on the higher strength of trimbow some drs just don't like to think we know more than them you could take a picture of the higher dose and go back to your drs show them its worth it if you manage to get it I live in lancaster uk and there dosnt seem to a respiratory specialist so I've had to read up and keep reading up on copd so that helps me when I manage to see a dr also in a nice way if they won't listen tell them you are going to make a official complaint I have done that once but didn't need to go ahead with it its worth a try our lifes depend on it x

I've told my Respiratory nurse about the higher strength Trimbow & she won't listen, why don't they read up about it. It makes my blood boil when they don't research what you tell them. Have you found the stronger strength helps more than the lower strength Trimbow as I've been taking this for 5 years & no longer feel its enough. I'm so pleased that someone is listening to you.

I like fostair 100 mart as you are allowed to take up to 8 doses spread over the day. This gets round it not lasting.
