my mums had hers - i thought it wasan all in one but its not its 2 so my arms will be sore so defo taking some emla cream this will effectiviely be my 6th
Because 2 different medications it has to be done separately. I had my booster and flu jabs yesterday, different arm for each. So far I seem to be fortunate in having no obvious side affects BUT sadly am having a severe flare up of back issue so am on lots of heavy duty pain medications so they may be helping any side affects.??
Pleased to have had jabs, so can now sort of relax. My COPD seems to flare up this time of year and at times can be severe and complications can last for months. So am always glad to receive flu jab as soon as possible in September.
had my 5th covid jab last week, still waiting to hear when can have flu jab, that I’ve been having many years ever since they started. They are not always effective, 15 years ago has flu that made me so bad was in bed for nearly 3 months, and needed 6 courses of iv antibiotics and then two oral antibiotics taken simultaneously afterwards to clear all nasties that we’re enjoying life in lungs. Hope none of us have that experience again. Jean x
I feel your pain. Ive got my 6th vaccine and flu jab in October too along with 2 lots of dmards. Will be hoping the dmards will be cut to monthly after this
Sorry its bloods that I get taken due to the medication im on for Lupus/pulmonary fibrosis. (Disease modifying antirheumatic drugs). They check my blood count, liver function, inflammation markers etc
I’m leaving two wks between flu jab & 6th covid vax. I’m not sure my immune system would cope with both at once, but that’s just an instinctive feeling & I might be talking rubbish 🤣
I had one in each arm at the same time. I’ve never had a vaccine reaction before so I didn’t think twice. I had a 40 degree temp that wouldn’t come down for almost 24 hours with paracetamol and anti inflammatory meds. I was hallucinating, thought I was seeing ghosts in the shower. I vomited for hours, couldn’t even keep water down. I had such bad muscle cramps that I couldn’t walk or sleep. My Apple Watch said I slept 1 hour 30 mins in about 2 days. I did get better but it was a fairly terrible experience. Next year, I’ll be having at least a week gap between the 2!
That sounds horrendous! I think you're immunosuppressed too? I envisage our bodies desperately trying to provoke some (any!) response to the vaccines, making us feel very ill in the process. So glad you’re better now 😊
sorry to hear how bad you were following jabs. Just so you and others know, if for some reason you can’t have Covid and flu jab at the same time you have to wait for 2 weeks between the two jabs.
im just getting them out of the way because the next injection will be in my earlobe to ahve the gas test then on the 14th ive gotta go to wythenshawe to discuss ninetab & iwas told in the letter i will be ahving a blood test so i ll be taking my emla cream to num right up
I just went on online nhs site and booked with no issue at local chemist for Covid booster. Just ticked box that am at great risk if I contract Covid. No issues at chemist to receive it and flu jab at same time.
?? Why a bit strange? Am at significant risk from Covid which is which box I ticked on website and system agreed I was eligible now. I was shielding throughout pandemic so wasn’t lying on form….
im book fo flu on 8th cant have both to gether to risky with all the allergies i have with meds. Even when i have the covid jab i have to double up on my antihistamines
