On may 1st i had surgery and a segmentectomy was perform to take care of a small 1,2 cm cancerous NSCL nodule. The procedure went really well and recovery was even better that expected, in fact i was back on my bike only 5 days after surgery and never looked back since then until i got a copy of the pathology report yesterday with a mention of lymphovascular invasion that brought me back to worry and anxiety land. Does it means that it will eventually and inevitably create metastasis or possibly not. Also the report mention that emphesyma was detected, this was also quite a shock since i quit smoking 25 years ago and am to this day very active with a dayly 25km bike ride.
Thank you for sharing

I do hope someone can give you an explanation. In the meantime you are doing the best possible for your lung health in your daily exercise and healthy living. P
Just want to welcome you and hope everything works out well. It is a worry but do try and discuss your fears with a medical professional if possible. I’m awaiting radiotherapy after having had a hysterectomy for endometrial cancer so I can understand your concerns. Take care and keep cycling. X
Welcome to the forum. It sounds to me as if you are doing all right with all that cycling. I hope I am right. You need to talk to a doctor about the lymphovascular invasion. Best wishes.
Hallo can't advise you but talk to you're dcter about concerns and ask what it means cause sometimes they say words that put fear in peaple for no reason keep doing you're cycling
Thanks everyone for your answers, so very much appreciated. I did see my family doctor concerning this pathology report and how to read this report correctly. He did tell me that "lymphovascular invasion" by cancer cells found in the removed part of the lung is actually quite common and certainly do not mean 100% chance of metastasis.....it is a possibility at this point. Frequent follow-up should follow and, according to him, if anything new cancer should turn up in the futur, technology is now on my side. Comforting words indeed, will keep a positive attitude and keep on biking :))) Thanks so much once more.
