Fostair hot flushes?

Newbie still, so lots of questions, sorry!

I’m having lots of hot flushes - am taking Fostair 200/6 two puffs in am and pm. Are the meds affecting my HRT meds (anything I can do about that?) or is it just the steroid effect to add into the racing heart and shaking hands?

Hi i dont think so i take hrt for my hot flushes and they are at bay. I also take fostair 200/6 and have no problems at all. Were all different so you could be better off checking with your gp. Karen xxx

Get back to whoever prescribed the fostair just to make sure they can be used together .. instead of trying to get to see my GP ?.. I now email the lung defence team at the hospital who lookmafter me no matter what ... I know I have to wait while the team pick up the email then they meet with one of the consultants just one or 2 days but it's worth it to get the correct answer.. ... If its more urgent I will ring and leave a message with consultants secretary .. .its so much better than stressing yourself out with whether the receptionist think you qualify seeing your GP... and by the time you getbthrough from beigh no 45 on the waiting list to check that out the appointments have all been taken.... at one time the receptionist didn't have the right to ask why you want to see your GP ... it used to be patient to doctor confidentiality... now that doesn't exist ...

unfortunately there is no way of getting hold of anyone in the respiratory team. No email. And if I phone they say I’ll email the consultant and they never respond.

That's shabby ... so who's looking after you ? I think I would feel pretty neglected if I had no one to turn to if needed urgently .. is it Bronchiectasis, Asthma or COPD you're taking Fostair for ? Do you have any letters from the hospital ... there should be some sort of indication of which department you are with and signature of Doctor

truly no one is looking after me. The Gp wouldn’t change anything and just says to wait to see the consultant.

Ring them again and ask for the consultants name and secretary's name and email... as you've previously been told they will contact them and you've received nothing back ...Then you email the secretary

honestly it’s just not like that in Kingston nhs. It might get better once I’ve had the first appointment but for now there’s just a receptionist and they’ve emailed for me and that’s that.

my GP has nothing to say on any matter I take to them. They just say you’ll have to ask the respiratory consultant who I am seeing in November.

Its a shame you have to wait so long to find anything out. I wish you luck xxx

I think you need a qualified person to answer this one ie respiratory team, pharmacist, our helpline or/and have a good look at the Fostair leaflet which might have useful information.

JAmanda could the hot flashes be caused by the difficulty to breathe sometimes ? Whatever the case .. your condition is not something they shoukd push off onto one another to explain or help you with ...it seems its a more severe type of Asthma so sorrybut you can't be expected to be brushed aside ... its your body and you need to find answers for why it's going wonky ... don't be afraid to push your curiosity keep messaging with your questions to both gp and hospital and maybe one day someone will take responsibility...

thanks for all your nice messages. I’m off to see someone privately tomo - what else can I do? And he just happens to be the Consultant I’m down to see in November.!I’ll do my best to get all the answers and tests I need tomo.

My post was really to see if anyone had a similar experience and it seems they haven’t so that’s helpful in itself.

Thanks again.
