Perching stool

My husband wants to buy a perching stool to use in the kitchen while cooking. I've found several online but he's being fussy & says they look too much like hospital chairs!

Now on the hunt for wooden ones.

Has anyone got one & ,if so, where did you buy it from?

I have one provided by OT but it isn't wood. Serves it's purpose non the less.

Try Amazon. My daughter-in-law has just got an adjustable stool with wheels on it for work. It’s leather look and wasn’t expensive.

I use a swivel bar stool with adjustable up and down. I already had them in the kitchen so I tried it and found it to be suitable.

I had one provided by the OT. I hated it and returned it so someone else could use it. Advice, try before buying!

I was looking for one of these but decided a stool would be too uncomfortable. I bought a slim padded chair with a back which folds down when not in use.

It was only £19 on Amazon. It's great.

I bought one from Wayfair. Like a stool for a breakfast bar. It has a swivel seat which is brilliant. I can reach all round. Liked it so much I bought another for the other end of the kitchen.

Thank you everyone. That's given us a few options to look at.

I guess it depends if your husband needs the arms on many perching stools for getting in/onto it and then standing up.

If he needs the arms, then something like a breakfast bar chair could be an option, provided the base were wide enough to be utterly stable. Some of those are very stylish.
