A&E and 6hr wait

soulboy118 profile image
99 Replies

On nurses visit this morning ambulance was called , apparently a tipping point was reached , on arrival by taxi to hospital A&E sign says "6hr wait" , brilliant , just waiting for triage before the long wait to see doctor .

Dizzynes still awful , vomited , fell twice but im in the best place for now . Copd nurses think i might have pnuemonia . Xray and blood tests to come .

Hope you get seen quicker than 6hr wait. Did the nurses give you a letter/note that they sending you? Sometimes that means you get seen quicker…..

When I dragged myself into a and e back in 2017 when i had blood clots in my lungs the triage nurse saw me quite quickly and was nice and i was there from 8am and finally got a bed on the respiratory ward at 11pm.

I had blood tests and an arterial blood gas test and an ecg and a ct scan before i got told by the doctors that i had blood clots in my lungs an

Biofreak profile image
Biofreak in reply tosoulboy118

🤞 that they see you soon. It's terrible. Last time I was in A&E I was there for 12 hours. That was last January but at least I got a CT scan and a proper diagnosis. A&E was like Fred Karnos Circus without the laughing. X

soulboy118 profile image
soulboy118 in reply toBiofreak

Phew , all done now , bloods come back , doc gave me a good going over ( not gangsster style lol ) its an inner ear problem and an infection not pneumonia , got meds and finially after 10 and half hours im home , thanks for the concern x

Biofreak profile image
Biofreak in reply tosoulboy118

Thank God for that sb. The inner ear thing would account for the dizziness. Get a good night's sleep and let the meds do their job. Night night and hope you feel a bit better by tomorrow xx

Omg Soulboy I really feel for you and hope you dont have pneumonia, you really dont need to be poorly now. The last time I took my Mum to A & E before she passed, i explained to the reception how poorly my Mum was and that I wouldnt be waiting around long and she was so nice and put my Mum in a side room so that she would be more comfortable. It sometimes helps to explain your situation and you never know there maybe a kind soul that will help you. I really hope you dont have much longer to wait and you get home soon x

soulboy118 profile image
soulboy118 in reply toIzb1

Thankfully not pneumonia , just a olain old infrctiin and inner ear problem , got meds so fingers crossed but cant drive for 5 days on docs advice

Izb1 profile image
Izb1 in reply tosoulboy118

6 HOURS WAIT!!!!! THATS A DISGRACE!!! When I was rushed in with my hospital even though I was expressed from reception to first part of triage while I was in resuss getting my oxygen levels back up I waited 3 hours just for a "room" to be put in for the night -well I say night - I was still in the triage for 4 days in this room before I was sent up to transisitional ward

Sorry to hear your so poorly my thoughts & prayers are with you .Yes -same request from sassy please keep us posted on how you are & your progress if youre able to
