one hour in bed and woke up absolutely soaked through and panicky because of the lack of air. Of course there is air ! I’m trying to talk myself down so I DONT go into one. God, I hate this heat. I hate insomnia. I hate being so tired. I hate the fact that I can’t just disassociate. I hate it all. Full stop.

too hot
It was a hot during the night, and I dont even live within what is being described as the highest risk zone.I think the way the media are reporting it is possibly raising peoples anxieties .
Hope you can get some rest and maybe a wee nap xx
You’re right. The media are scaring the life out of people. I started talking to a man outside a shop about the heatwave and when we were parting company, he said bye. Probably won’t see you again as we’ll all be dead tomorrow! 🤣🤣
Ha, good to have a sense of humour!
I do find the heat seems to 'suck the air dry'. Have had to use my salbutamol inhaler more often and using my air filter. We live in a flat, low lying area and the pollution builds up as the heat acts as a blanket keeping it down instead of it blowing away. Wondering about using something to moisten air.
Lots of cool water to drink and to cool my face, arms, back of neck seems to help, plus resting more.
I find the only way to sleep is with a fan (mine is very quiet) on throughout the night. Plus I am only covered with a sheet.
I am in the “risk zone” and am anxious but mainly I think due to the media scare stories. Basically I read how we are all at risk due to heat and if the heat doesn’t get us the escaping snakes will!! I know I’m being flippant but the media does have a lot to answer for. Am still waiting for 6ft snow drifts that we’re going to kill us all off!!I think it’s about being sensible with the weather. I woke at 05.30 this morning so went for a shower at 06.00. Am going on a journey at the end of the week so was doing car checks at 06:30!!!
Am now in living room with windows open for some fresh air. Later windows will be closed as will blinds to keep heat out.
Having lived in the Middle East and Florida I can't think what all the fuss is about. I had my fan on all night. I keep windows open and curtains shut and drink plenty of water. The media are completely to blame for this fussing and panic.
Same here to be honest…I was on holiday in Greece a few weeks back and we landed into 37 degrees. It’s normal for so much of the world! Admittedly some may have air con and do sensible by having a siesta in the hottest part of the day!
Like you say, keep curtains shut, fan if you’ve got one and plenty of water!
Just keep in mind that by Wednesday the cooler air will return .
Take it very easy the next two days , plenty of water, watch mindless tv, keep in touch here…..always someone around .
The warmest time here is late afternoon , so I know it will soon get cooler.
Both my sisters in the U.K. also told me it is very uncomfortable. 😒 I hope it is cooler tomorrow. xx 💕
