I receive pension credit. Does anyone know if the electricity rebate cheque for oxygen concentrator use should be declared as income?

Oxygen company rebate for electricity.
Hello as far as I know you don't have to declare it, they never told me I had to, have a lovely day and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx 🌻🌻
Hi Tykelady. I wouldn't think it would be considered as income. If still in doubt the ALUK help line would definitely know. xxx
I wouldn't think so, I've never seen it mentioned here in over 9 years. After all its hardly income if it's a repayment for electricity used.
No you don't have to declare it. Afterall it only covers what electric your machine uses. Not anymore then that. So your not making any income off it.
Hello I have been trying to get a electricity rebate for my concentrator for nearly 3 years the company said it goes through BOC and BOC says it is your electricity company who provides your electricity I have filled in the forms I was given to no avail any information would be helpful
Many thanks
My oxygen provider is Baywater Health and they took my bank details even before I left hospital. I didn't have to claim at all. The cheque is deposited by Baywater but the NHS are the ones who pay for it I thimk.
Thank you. Mine was provided by BOC they said that you have to have 500 hours on your concentrator before you get payment the life of the concentrator is 500 before you have to have it changed!and the electricity company Said it is dealt with by your provider you cannot win. Thank you for your information Take care
Try your respiratory nurse. They are the NHS prescribers and might be able to help you. x
Hi kenbren. The oxygen provider have engineers who come every 6 months to service the concentrator. They take the reading from the concentrator and it is sent to the oxygen providers finance department and they deposit the money you are due into your bank account. Hope this clarifies your question . good luck x
Hello HollyBoyd. The engineer from the provider in this case BOC comes every 6 months and takes a reading as you say.I have never received any reimbursement and I have had a concentrator 3 years the engineer told me they do not pay any monies out it is your provider Take care
Can you phone BOC 's helpline and ask for their headquarters or finance dept, and ask them. I had to do that with Dolby, my provider and I'm now reimbursed. Hope you can get satisfaction. x
It must be the power of thought. On checking my account see that a refund from BOC is in my account for electricity!Waiting 3 years and it suddenly appeared after posting my message. Thank you to everyone who responded Stay cool and safe
Thank you for your input will keep trying stay safe and cool
Thank you to HollyBoyd and Tykelady for your input I was discharged from hospital Sunday after an 8 day stay so that was a positive which are few and far between at the present Take care

I had a letter from Baywater regarding the price increase stating that it too would pay the new price but stipulated that it would only reimburse for oxygen concentrator and not NIV nebuliser or any other equipment which in my opinion is unfair, I’m on my nivvy 24/7 but haven’t really thought about calculating how much more electricity it uses along with nebuliser and of course stair lift
