Thank you - glad we're friends again!
i thought we were -im quite new & not long joined so ive no reason to break friends with you
sorry, I wasn't clear: I meant England and USA are friends again.
England & USA have always been allies as far as I know . just as a matter as observation our country is made up of 4 countries England Northern Ireland Scotland & Wales .
We are called UK or Great Britain
I remember some years ago I said somewhere I thought that travel from one state to another was just 1 hour tops I thought & someone replied & gave me \some real grief about my ignorance of USA
Well, in 1776 USA's 13 colonies signed Declaration of Independence from the British Empire (American Revolutionary War, 1775-1783). We have been allies since end of war. I don't understand someone giving you grief because you didn't know size of our country. We're not all like that!
i know youre not -i have a friend from kentucky -shes fab ive been to florida & everyone was brill more than helpful
Many years ago, when I was young, my daughter and I would go to Florida every January. I live in the northeast (cold, very cold in winter) so really appreciated the sun in Florida. I travelled quite a bit and lived many places and always found most people are warm and giving. Now it is difficult for me to get out (oxygen 24/7) but I have many treasures from travels to awaken memories of a different time. In the words of Simon and Garfinkle:
Time it was, and what a time it was, it was
A time of innocence, a time of confidences
Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph
Preserve your memories, they're all that's left you
Thanks horseygirl_0103, much appreciated
hope youre all enjoying yourself
Thank you for thinking of us! I just got back from a fun neighborhood potluck and barely thought of Covid. One of my first group encounters, though mostly older folks, who believe in vaccination! Later tonight I’ll head up Cape Foulweather, named by Capt Cook in 1778, to see distant fireworks. 💥
