I have two Dyson’s. A hot and cold one and a pure cool one. I think they are brilliant.- very sensitive which is good. If my husband has a glass of wine it suddenly kicks off!I keep the one in the sitting room on more or less all day on auto., just letting it do it’s own thing really.

The one in the bedroom I usually just have on in the summer - if I get too warm it affects my breathing - I notice it when the temperature on the Dyson says 22. However, we had roof damage during storm Arwen. It took a week to get the tiles back on because roofers were busy, then it snowed so another wait. Of course it rained everyday and the roof insulation got drenched. Anyway, got roof fixed, got insulation removed, moved into spare bedroom and ran the Dyson all day on hot in our bedroom to help dry it out. Everytime I went upstairs I felt breathless - Dyson said voc were high.

Anyway, roll on a bit. Ceiling dry. Loft insulation put back, but I was still not right when I got up. I was then told that the brown stain ( I was waiting till I felt a bit better before getting it painted because of the smell) sorry, 😁, brown stain contained mould and should be washed down with bleach.

Hmm. So I did it. Then the room stuck of bleach. Dyson went crazy to begin with and still does if I leave it off for a while. However, once on it settles down and cleans the air for me all night. It just sounds like someone breathing out now and again and that is not even in night mode.

Needless to say I am very pleased I invested in them. The only downside is the cost and that is a big downside - not cheap- second mortgage needed!

I use Meaco Low Energy 12L dehumidifier with HEPA filter. It is especially useful when I do laundry or take a shower. It dries everything quickly and leaves a dry cool and clean smell in the air. I would recommentd it as it is far cheaper than Dyson products and very low on energy costs which will be an issue for everyone now. Can be easily moved from room to room.
