The spring booster is only for those who are immunosuppressed or over 75. If you are in one of those categories the NHS will contact you.

I was wondering the same thing and then I read somewhere (sorry can't remember where) I was on the computer for ages Anyway I read that some medications can affect the immune system so with this in mind I checked my meds and Fostair inhaler is a steroid medication and a side effect is it can affect the immune system. I have emailed my GP highlighting this and asked what will happen re the 4th booster. I am waiting for a reply and will keep you posted.

UPDATE spring booster. Well! I got a reply from. GP we will get back to you in the next two weeks. Umm not happy with that so followed a link from this site about the anti viral medicine. WOW! Apparently as I am on Apixabam for AF I cannot take the antiviral meds. Result panic !! Then again I read another post on this site that a chap (I'm really sorry I didn't keep the post) but he went to the walk in clinic with his letter from way back saying he was CEV and he waw vaccinated. So this morning I looked for the nearest walk in clinic and rocked up with a file with all my medical history re COPD and AF plus all my meds and alert cards and previous vaccination cards. I was asked my name date of birth and checked my GP name and address and directed to vaccination pod. That was it no quibbles or questions. I think the main point is that it was a walk in clinic although some people did seem to have appointments. Anyway I urge people to give this a try it won't do any harm and you may be lucky like us . Good luck and stay safe.

I'm glad that you are pleased. I am housebound so a walk in clinic is of no benefit. However if I wasn't I doubt that I would try and get a 4th vaccine.

There is a huge group of clinically vulnerable people who have been excluded from this booster because their immune systems are not compromised. Even though our lung damage leaves us very vulnerable to serious illness from COVID -19. If you look through my previous posts you will see what I have been trying to do about it. Unfortunately we are getting no support from anyone.

Not yetGovt has said there'll be a roll out.at present,it's over 75s,care home s and immuncomopromised as these groups response and therefore, protection is much lower than everyone else's, in every other group.

Hope this helps

Stay safe x

Like Littlepom I have been trying to do something about not being eligible. I've already posted this so apologies but I dont know how to give a link.....I have emailed my MP, the Secretary of State for Health and the JCVI. The JCVI forwarded my email to The Health Security Agency (Jenny Harries). I had a lengthy reply which contained the following....

"For details on the medical conditions included within the immunosuppressed category, we suggest people check ‘Box 1’ within ‘Chapter 14a – Covid-19’ of the publication Immunisation Against Infectious Diseases, also known as ‘the Green Book’. A link to it is here: gov.uk/government/publicati...

The examples given in the Green Book are not exhaustive, and, within these groups, the prescriber should apply clinical judgment to take into account the risk of COVID-19 exacerbating any underlying disease that a patient may have, as well as the risk of serious illness from COVID-19 itself.

The JCVI is unable to comment on individual circumstances so we suggest you contact your GP and/or consultant to discuss your particular situation.

The JCVI is not responsible for vaccine deployment. To arrange further vaccinations, please contact NHS England who will be able to provide information on services in your local area.

england.nhs.uk/contact-us/

The JCVI continues to consider whether any additional groups should be offered a spring dose of vaccine, such as those in other adult age cohorts or in an at-risk group, after consideration of an number of factors, including updated analyses on vaccine effectiveness and epidemiological data on COVID-19."

Are you in the age group or care home or just another Cev left behind

Your guess is a good as mine. I just take what is offered under whatever heading and hope for the best. I live pretty much isolated anyway.
