Your emergency pack of steroids and antibiotics is for infections to be used at first signs of infection. Troublesome coughing needs further investigation imho

You dont take Emergency Meds for coughing. They are for chest infections or exacerbations. Persistent coughing you should consult a Doctor..

Possibly the advice would be to take the steroid but the antibiotics will only help if you have an infection which would be indicated by a change in colour of mucus. Maybe you could call 111 who would probably get a Dr to call you back.

You really should speak to your GP about your emergency Medication, when to take them. Or let it write down for you, because it is important for you to know when you should take your emergency Medication, We couldn't tell you when you have to take your medication love, we not doctors.

Please get in touch with your GP as soon as possible to speak about it and let's get this cough checked out.

You take care ok and stay safe and warm. 🌺🌺🌺🌺

Once upon a time, long ago, I was given a treatment plan. It said if chest tightened to take steroids, if sputum was excessive and yukky to take antibiotics BUT to contact gp asap. Emergency packs were given as its sod's law that we'll need help on a bank holiday or when impossible to contact gp. HOWEVER, as others have stated, contact gp as we are all different.
