Just had my copd review by telephone consultation and the nurse has changed my fostair and spiriva to trimbow as she though it might improve my wheezing. I started it yesterday and am really struggling today. Has anyone else experience of trimbow and does it take time to 'kick in?
The poor dog had the shortest walk ever this morning .
on a positive note ( I think) she is booking me for PR.
By the way I'm new here !!!

Hi, Welcome. I am on Trimbow and had no bad reactions to it However, that means absolutely nothing as we are all different and react differently to things.I was given Trimbow as my status of disease got worse and the hospital COPD nurse said that Trimbow was the preferred inhaler now.
But is you feel it is not for you, Talk to your respiratory consultant.
Hi and welcome to the site, it's great to meet you. I am on Trimbow and have had no reactions or side effects, but I know other people have. Hopefully someone will be on soon who can tell how it affected them. Have a lovely day and keep posting take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx
Hi AnnieWelcome I hope you start to feel better soon. I'm on Anoro inhaler haven't tried the trimbow but I think you have to try it for a month and see how you go.
As for copd reviews it's about time they started seeing patients face to face. I haven't had a review yet the last one was 2019 and I'm also awaiting PR.
Poor dog lol. Keep in touch let us know how your doing. 🐕😊. Jane
Thank you all for a lovely warm welcome and your comments. Will give it a few more days and then give the nurse a ring if things don't improve. I suppose being a born optimist I hoped that a couple of puffs and I might be able to jog to the shop. Instead it's a struggle to get to the kitchen !!!!
Hi and welcome. It may be that the Trimbow doesn't suit you. If you are struggling so much it is probably best to speak to your nurse again soon, especially with the weekend approaching.
Welcome to the forum. I have been on Trimbow for 18 months with no problems, but I have recently been prescribed Ventolin to use with a mask spacer up to four times a day. Not quite sure why. If Trimbow doesn’t help have a word with your doctor or nurse. Good luck x
Excuse me for interrupting, but what's a mask spacer? I use an aero spacer for my Ventolin as needed because they said you get more of the med into your lungs.
I didn’t know either, but all it is is an aerospace with an oxygen type mask attached to the end you normally breathe through. You have to breathe out and then breathe the ventolin in through your mouth and nose, you get a better dose I think. I’ve never had ventolin before.
Hi Annie. welcome to the forum. I have been on Trimbiow for over three years now and the big difference I have noticed is the reduction in the nunmber of excaserbations I get. Obviously everyone is different, but [perhaps it might be worth giving it a trial for a while to see how you go. Good luck. John
I was put on Trimbow which I persevered with for 6-8 weeks. I didn’t suit me, I found myself becoming very breathless and desperate for the next inhalation. I changed back to my original inhalers and my breathlessness lessened. I really didn’t suit me at all.
Hi, I was given Trimbow on leaving hospital replacing Genuair and Fostair. I was also discharged with home oxygen so maybe that has made a difference but I find it seems to have reduced the amount of mucus I was producing particularly in the mornings.
