I have an appointment with my respiratory consultant - just our of interest I asked a friend who has COPD their medications to compare with mine, after reading them, then also what I took - gosh I really need to ask some questions - eg was never told that one I am taking should be careful being subscribed to someone with high blood pressure etc - some are even death threatening! Others are blocked in the US! All I would like to know so I can ask my consultant is what you are on & does it work? I have had lung cancer, so have one bit missing now + COPD. What have you found works for you?

COPD MEDICATION
Medications for COPD are many and what works for one won't necessarily work for another. All have potential side effects but not everyone will get any. It's probably best to discuss your concerns with your consultant.
Just curious what you are taking that is banned in the US?
I use an Inspiolto inhaler and have prednisone and an antibiotic as a rescue pack when needed for an exacerbation and that is about it. I do have Bricanyl also as an emergency inhaler but seldom use it.
I use serevent inhaler twice daily, and ventolin as required - which I probably don't use as much as I should from the aching lower left ribs.
I have COPD, asthma and brochiectasis. To be honest, I've lost track of what I'm taking for what!I have Relvar and Spiriva inhalers (plus Ventolin as required) and also take Montelukast (for the asthma, I believe) and Carbosisteine (for loosening the mucous). I take doxycycline from November to April and when I have an exacerbation, I take various antibiotics with or without prednisolone, as prescribed.
I have a rescue pack in which I keep Amoxycilin, Doxycycline, Clarithromycin and Prednisolone.
Alongside many other meds I take for other conditions, the cupboard looks like a chemist's shop!
