COPD and Diabetes

What a lovely pair.

One demands some comfort food,

T'other says "Don't you dare".

Thus eating is so troublesome

When you have type 2.

All the stuff you really like,

Is not so good for you.

I can't eat like a rabbit

My teeth don't like to munch.

So that rules out the salad

That I ought to have for lunch.

Fish and chips, a pint of beer

Is what I'd really like.

When I ask if that will do

They tell me"On your bike".

Midge has also put on weight,

So she can't have then too.

We sit there looking miserable

Wondering what to do.

What to do dear Don,

When weight keeps piling on

You need to watch your diet

But you don’t really want that.

All in moderation is what the “experts” say,

But you are happiest going your own way.

Take it easy Don and look after yourself and Midge. Xxxxx

Midge was in the garden

I wondered where she'd gone

I saw her by the bird stand

With the suet pellets on.

She was busy scoffing them,

And I was awfully cross.

I rushed out there to stop her

And show her who was boss.

Then I thought I'm hungry

This diet is so small

So I knelt down beside her.

Before she got them all!

(Only joking of course.) ;-)
