Hi casperpet here I've done two lateral flow tests both positive I've sent my pcr away but the thing is I am not showing any symptoms of covid . I have COPD / EMPHIZEMA/AND IVE SUFFERED FROM ASTHMA SINCE I WAS A BOY. I have degenerative discs in my lower back aswell . I'm nearly 72yrs old I was thinking I am not showing any symptoms of covid because of all the medication I take daily.

I take two doxy tablets a day Anti biotic. I had a really bad cough and a lot of phlegm. When I did an lft, it was negative so I`ll go with that but I suspect it was a flare up of Emphysema as I feel much better now.

However it does not hurt at our age especially, to go and seek medical advice even more so if your LRT shows positive.

Wishing you well, Tom.

It isn't uncommon for some people to test positive but be free of any symptoms of covid. This has been commented on throughout the pandemic by scientists and doctors and is one reason for the spread of the virus. People seem to be affected differently.

I am self isolating , my wife's lateral flow test was negative so no cuddles for a while , she is also isolating we are taking all precautions not to spread this virus

I'm glad your wife is ok so far but best to be safe. I'm glad too that you aren't unwell even though you have tested positive and hope you stay that way.

You may be asymptomatic having no symptoms at all if you have picked up a low viral load . On my first and second day my symptoms were very mild and my T Line on the test very faint but from then my symptoms becoming more pronounced and the line got stronger. Even when you start testing negative again your symptoms can worsen especially around days 7th to 9th

.When you get a positive result on the LFT it’s usually true even if the T line is faint so your PCR should be positive.Sometimes when the LFT is negative it may be false so worth repeating the day after if you feel you have picked up Covid.

I hope if you do get symptoms they are mild and pass without issue . Take care Cx

Until you hear about PCR test you must assume you have Covid and isolate and take all necessary precautions. The problem with Covid and seems more prevalent with current strain, is that many people do not have symptoms and this is partly why it is spreading so much.I DO hope you prove to be actually negative when results come back from PCR.

I have been in isolation since I tested positive and have no intention going into the community or among my children grandchildren or great grandchildren until I am told I am clear . But thank you for the advice
