Oxygen abroad
Have you spoken to your supplier in this country they may be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck
Try speaking to the people who are providing your oxygen for the apartment you are occupying or hire a portable oxygen concentrator that you can take abroad or better still buy one yourself as they are available at a quite reasonable price second hand from reputable scources.
Iv got my own oxygen concentrator that I take with me for apartment it’s too big to take out shopping etc just want small oxygen bottles
2 yrs ago you asked a similar question on this subject and a replier gave you a link to make an enquiry, here is that link.oxygenworldwide.com/service...
Good luck they may be able to help.
Speak to the BLF they will put you in the right direction
Also you need to have travel insurance to go abroad plus you will need to take a flight test for the oxygen levels again its costings for travel insurance the cheapest way to get the price down his to take out a multi policy for 12 months you can then travel and stay for upto 30 days each time but you need to travel at least twice to make it worth while on the costings .Ask the BLF to put the article I had written for the magazine I haven't acopy but they would have one.
Hi all not sure if this is correct place to ask this but here goes...any information about too much oxygen or CO2 overdose, would be gratefully appreciated...I had a episode a few days ago and banged my oxygen way up...being ignorant as how to use supplemental oxygen...I have had it up too 3 instead of 2 and it's been suggested that I may have an overdose of Co2. Any one know anything about this.Best regards
Ragrug
You can retain Carbon Dioxide (CO2d) and must not take in too much oxygen. But otherwise, no problem. Get yourself an fingertip oxygen statistics reader. Anything from 89% to 98% is fine. Under that is too little O2. If you are retaining CO2, you should stay around 88%. How to tell? Difficult. Needs a blood sample. I would go back down to the recommended dose as soon as you feel well.
Hi - my mum used to be able to get replacement cylinders - it was actually the same company. It’s a few years ago so I can’t recall the name but check with your supplier .
broadband1 - Have you looked into local (as in Spain) ex-pat forums for information?
Not for anything lung related, but I have used such forums in the Far East and South America for information - where I could source periodic blood tests and potential (thankfully not needed) replacement medications for trips lasting several months.
I would try Googling something like "Ex-pat community Marbella (or wherever you are going)". Most will have health sections.
Good luck with it all. Some sun on the bones helps the world feel a better place.
