Hi everyone I hope things are going well for you all although I know we all have good/bad/wose days. My concern isn’t oxygen level iv been dropping from 90 at rest to the lowest went to 62, I only know this as I bought the oxymeter for your finger that’s what it was at just before I passed out the alarm went off . Iv had a couple of passing out a lot of dizziness that’s causing me to fall and at times it’s black dots everywhere so along with all this my breathing has been frightening. When I’m not resting I’m only waking about 12 steps all in but by the time the kettle boiled I’m really breathless, I’m really scared! My hubby hasn’t left my side in a week as he’s also now grown more concerned about me I actually feel so guilty about this I feel so sorry for him ☹️ He’s been waking me up if I fall asleep, he’s now like me afraid I won’t wake up. I wake a lot during the night as I’m starting to feel like iv stopped breathing it wakes me up at most times especially around 4am - 5am my oxygen dropped So low. Why aren’t drs truthful with what could happen to us it makes me so sad that iv no dr to trust . Iv caked my GP and he was to call me back on Wednesday still waiting I was told he will call mom or tue . Hospital kept me there and at 5 am said I could go home it’s probably the infection I have that’s causing it. I was to go back if I got worse. Sorry for the long post Again! How much worse do they want me to get ?? Any advice would be very much appreciated. I suppose I’m really looking to talk to those who really understand. All I wanted to know was what can I expect and has my copd went to the nxt level. Thanks so much for your support and for listening . Take care everyone I hope you have a wonderful Sunday ♥️🌹🌹
Oxygen level 74-80: Hi everyone I hope... - Lung Conditions C...
Oxygen level 74-80
If it hasn’t got better then I would definitely go back , have they put you on antibiotics for the infection ? It sounds as if you need to be in hospital on IV antibiotics and having your levels checked often and bloods checked too . What infection did they diagnose ?
Dear Shazrab please go to A&E just as soon as you are having dizzy spells as this must be looked at. You may well need assessing for some oxygen or possibly you could be retaining CO2. Both these can cause the very same symptoms you describe. Don't wait for your G P as by the time Monday comes you'll have waited 6 days for a phone call! Obviously I am unable to diagnose your problem as I've no medical qualifications but have learnt enough on this forum to know the best advice to give you is to go to A&E today and start the ball rolling.
Sending you gentle hugs and do come back and tell us how you got on. P.S. Top marks for your devoted husband who is probably worried sick, but has been watching over you and checking your breathing etc.
Dear Shazrab, I hope by now you are in a Place where they can look after you Properly, This is not Right, Of Course Hubby will be so Worried as We all here are. Please insist they give you IV Antibiotics and Higher Emergency Oxygen. I was faint when They found The carbon Dioxide was too high and The Nurses came to my Home to administer the correct 02 & Took my Blood Gases, they came out Twice, so If they Know, they will do their utmost to get you right. Good Luck Hun and Hugs for your concerned Hubby....Love n Hugs xxxx
Dear Shazzrab please go to hospital I agree with everyone you need to be in hospital. You need to be monitored and also reassured, getting upset and anxious won't be helping. I'm not surprised that you and your dear husband are worried. I'm sure some doctors think we don't know what's going on with our bodies, and yes I agree I find certain doctor's hard to trust. Stand your ground and demand answers, they are supposed to be there to care for you. Hope you get things sorted and start to improve very soon. Take care of yourselves and have a good day 🤗 Bernadette xx
I just wanted to send you best wishes 💐
1) If you have not done it already - GO TO A&E NOW.
2) Finger pulse oximeters do not really show an accurate reading below mid to low 70's. The tech simply isn't good enough.
3) At 80 ish you are still higher than a high altitude mountain climber, so don't think that your SATs are the be all and end all of diagnosis.
It is often really just often to how you feel in yourself that is the trigger for treatment, you will know your body and condition better than almost any doctor.
As others have said, if you are suffering breathlessness on exertion, then ambulatory O2 may be the way forward for you, but talk to your consutlant (via the medical secretary if you dont have direct contact details) and GP. BLF or respiritory nurses at your local pulmonary rehab centre can also offer great advice.
Good luck to you, hope you get fixed up soon.
Hi my dear friends, A Big thank you to you all for your continued support I do apologise for not replying soner it’s not been a good week. Well I eventually got to talk to my gp he listened to all my questions then I listened as well as I could to his answers he said it definitely seems iv got so much worse He is going to write to respiratory drs Not the ones iv seen before but someone he has regular contact with, also he doesn’t want to guess but seems by my symptoms that Iv definitely got worse and is always going to try and get a respiratory nurse to visit me regularly and will let the respiratory dr know just how bad things are and how much they’ve changed. He is also going to ask about oxygen therapy so for now I need to wait on all the feedback and I will keep you updated. Iv been put on antibiotics again for 2 weeks and 5 days of steroids. Iv not given up in life I just want to have a little bit of the life I had back. Right now though I’d be happy for my symptoms to ease up and even be able to walk to the toilet myself. Many thanks again to you all for advice and support and prayers. Take care everyone I’m thinking of you all 🌹🌹
