I’m Still Getting “Something” Done.
That’s a lovely rendition, James! Takes me right back to when I was about 16 & an old boyfriend arranged this for piano & used to sing & play it to me. He had a husky, bluesy voice which lent something (!) to the song.
That’s great, Hanne62. As you know, Frank Sinatra said…the best love song ever.
No, I didn’t know that actually, James. Yes, I was madly in love for about a month! 😆I still have the letter he wrote me when I ditched him 😢
❤️
Thank you I really enjoyed that. Sad to see how young Meredith was when she passed away. Xxx
That’s a great recording and video too. Thank you for sharing it with us 🎸
Play this on my Clarinet. Incidentally I read so many posts about this and that gadget supposed to help with breathing. For me I started with a second hand clarinet for £50. Learned to play it and to read music. Moved on to a more professional model. Not had an Asthma exacerbation since I started. Also good brain training.
End result have been asked to come along to a local orchestra and see how I get on. But feel I am not good enough for that yet.
Go along anyway! You'll learn a lot from playing with others and the sooner you do the quicker you'll improve. Just had to give up playing trombone after more than 50 years and missing it, especially the friendships which bands have provided. And "Tryfan" - from a mountain in Snowdonia? Climbed it many times!
Fabulous, Tryfan, absolutely! One musician/recording engineer (in good health) I know, bought a MIDI breath controller for inputting woodwind or horn notes with a much more realistic feel. After learning the fingering for the controller, went out and bought a saxophone…now he’s a horn player in addition to piano and drums. If I ever cover “When I’m Sixty Four”…you, Tryfan, get the clarinet parts.
