Slowly but surely.

Was just getting used to impared breathing due to the hot weather. When my on the phone review came up. So now, just finished four days steroids. 6 tablets every morning. Didn't have any real effect for two days and then felt a lot better but now struggling again. I suppose it's all those chores I had to catch up with!!!! No seriously. I needed them but still feel pretty breathless. On exertion. But an improvement peak flow before. Night meeds 200. As opposed to 60 , at the beginning of this week.just peak flowed after meds, inaler pink . No change inhaler blue up to 350 on best blow out of three. I think the steroids seem to be working as an extra boost to blue inhaler? I am not a doctor. I suppose someone medical will tell me.?

Hopefully I am a good example of a no panicing breather. Uncle peak flow will tell me?

Thinking of you in this hot weather which has adversely affected so many of us dodgy lung buddies.Am not a doctor so unable to answer your query but am on long term prednisolone and during a flare up it can take me 48 hours to feel better as the increased dosage takes effect.

Do keep in touch with your doctor's /respiratory nurses if you need to.

Wishing you well.

The weather is cooling down at last in Essex. I hope it is too wherever you are. Best wishes. xxx

The weather has cooled down considerably now. May be best to let your doctor know if you continue to have problems.

Hi Flipin. My peak flow is 400 at best. If I get a problem mine will go down to 350 or less. I think everyone’s peak flow is different. It is only an indicator.

I would check it out with your health professional , sometimes I need a longer course of steroids, or a slowly decreasing dose.

Also try the BLF helpline for advice on 03000 030 555

Very hard to explain lack of oxygen. Are you dizzy? , well yes.

Are you weezy . ?Well yes

. Do you feel like your legs are gonna give way. ?Well yes.

Do you feel like you have the lowest blood pressure in the world

. Well yes!!

My philosophy

You can only deal with what's happening to you as it comes.

So I am the centre of the storm.

You know that really calm bit in the middle.

Thank you all who replyd once again.

Hi Flipin9, I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling with your breathing recently. We'd re-iterate the good advice here of if you continue to struggle to contact your GP or respiratory team. Or you can also give our helpline a call on 03000 030 555 and ask to speak to on our respiratory nurses who may be able to advise further on your medication.

Take care,

Katie
