Hello everyone that sent me helpful and lovely replies

I was unable to do my 6 minutes walk as my oxygen levels were dropping down to 83 then with a supervised rest it went back up to 94...... Thank God as I didn't want to stay in hospital.

I told the oxygen nurse about confusion of diagnosis and no medication ( I can't have steriods as it effected my mental health.)

Nurse was wonderful and said she would sort out the diagnosis and I told them I want a face to face review appointment..

I'm now been put on home oxygen therapy.

Thank you all are great people on this site. Take care 😊❤

Good to know that you were listened to by the nurse when you went for the test. I hope that leads to some progress for you. I hope too that you will find some benefit from the oxygen. I was recently prescribed ambulatory oxygen and while it doesn't stop breathlessness it makes life easier when using it as blood oxygen levels stay up. Best wishes.

Very glad you're being looked after Mickie67. I dont know how mobile you are but for interest sake there was a post a couple of days ago recommending a backpack carrying ambulatory O2 tank for £30 rather than the £150 oxygen suppliers charge.

Best wishes to you. P

I have been using oxygen at home for some time and whilst it doesn’t really improve my breathing it does give me some control over it - ie, I’m able to use it as soon as I need it and it does help. I also have a backpack for taking out with me but find it a tad heavy and in addition I have another portable one that I pull behind me like a small suitcase. These all assist with my mobility. I noticed further on someone mentioned a cost to these however I don’t pay for them. They are supplied by Dolby. Visual through our NHS (I’m in Scotland). Good that nurses are listening to you & good luck for future x

Hi Mickie. I wonder if you feel the sense of relief that I had when I was first prescribed ambulatory oxygen. To think that such a simple supplement could be what was going to make such a positive difference is still something for whichI am grateful. There may be questions that come up for you as you start on this stage so don’t be shy about asking them.

Take care

Grace
