I even wear a mask to answer the door to the Postman, Supermarket delivery! Especially having had COVID, and having to watch my elderly Mum be hospitalised with it!!! She now has lung damage and is diagnosed with COPD, but I thank God every day, it could have been worse 🙏🏻
I'm going to go on wearing mine. I don't believe the ' scientific ' guff that they only protect others. Anything that prevents germs getting to me is valuable.
Duly signed. Freedom to go out to do the basic necessities should be everyone’s right without being terrified of catching what can be a deadly virus when we have the capacity to reduce its transmission
Just signed, 5105 signed so far, hope more people sign it. I intend to continue wearing masks and keeping my distance from people. Whilst I qualify as exempt I do wear the mask, even though I have difficulty breathing. as I want to minimise breathing any of the droplets in. I walk slowly and have to stop every so often but wearing the mask I feel does give me some protection. I still wear a mask when my shopping delivery arrives even though the delivery man is outside my door and steps away when he has put the trays down. I strongly feel that leaving it to individual choice is only going to make a bad situation even worse as the vaccine is not a 100% guarantee and letting the virus escalate is just going to make a breeding ground for even more Variant mutations some of which may be able to evade the vaccine. This is just my opinion and I appreciate others may have a different opinion. This is far from "Freedom Day" on the 19th July for many of us.
Signed. Apparently Andy Burnham, Greater Manchester Mayor has said that, in Greater Manchester, people will still be required to wear masks after the 10/7, if able to do so, in shops, on public transport and enclosed spaces. I think, at this point, it's not wise to throw the baby out with the bath water so I'm happy with his decision.
Ha Don49!! you beat me to it ......I have already signed both and was about to post links on here for members who agree and would like to sign..... Seems a small but significant act of solidarity to consider and support those who remain vulnerable and uncomfortable with relaxing restrictions just yet....
Thank you DJS6. I never post on FB, but I made an exception this time on a couple of Long COVID support groups I am part of. One man in Australia told me to delete it as it had undertones of political beliefs. Not sure he would feel the same if he lived in the UK rather than Australia; death rates 128k vs 911 respectively (as per Google)
Hi Don, sorry for my very delayed reply!.....It's not political (except for those who try to make it so), it's just sensible and respectful....sadly many just couldn't care less about other people.!
Have signed. Think its totally mental to drop all restrictions. Masks should definitely have remained for a while. I'll certainly carry on wearing mine.
Signed! After 18 months shielding and doubled jabbed mid June felt a bit safe. But now? Crowded shops and buses, no masks, no social distancing whilst cases soar - it’s crazy!! We know the vaccines are not foolproof. We can still catch and transmit. The clinically vulnerable and the very young will be most at risk. Consultant nephew tells me hospitals are planning for huge increase in respiratory disease as very young children have missed out in acquiring immunity in lockdown. The govt has factored in inevitable deaths from this plan? 😳
I agree they are needed but not enforced by law. We have been told it would be wise to keep using them in certain places, it is up to us to follow that advice. not forced by law. There should be no need to use the law, if people use common sense. I will use a mask but I don't need forcing..
