Let down

I feel that the government are not bothered about people with health issues any longer. At the start of the pandemic I felt that they were protecting us telling us to shield. Now we are jabbed your on your own, they are also cutting the £20 a week universal credit. I feel that I have no choice but to struggle with my health and to seek employment.

No the government only cares about themselves and their own wants!

I think they are spiteful myself in the way they treat the disabled and the chronically ill.

I think many people with chronic conditions feel the same. The government has been very cynical in pretending to care. So far I’ve had very good health care during the pandemic, my health plummeted and then improved, but I know I’m one of the lucky ones

Remember what was reported to be said at the very start of covid and the desire for herd immunity. "Bodies piling up" being the price to pay .

The so called shielding was not for us at all it was to shield the NHS (which is a Govt institution) from being overwhelmed. Now all the CEV are supposedly vaccinated they do not care at all, no mention at all from them for the immunocompromised or those unable to have the vaccine. Scandalous that they 'mis-sold' shielding in that way, an evil con.

I don’t know that they did mis-sell it, though, 2Gs. I always understood from the start that the fear was overwhelming an already chronically over stretched and inefficient NHS: saving lives was a factor to some extent, in that they didn’t want a massacre, but it wasn’t the driving motivation. Hence why there’s little concern now that the risk of overwhelming the NHS has significantly reduced. Not saying it’s right, or appropriate, just that I don’t know that it was a blatant misrepresentation. Even if it was, I would be largely blaming the media for that. They’re supposed to be unbiased and report the facts, not the Government’s perspective , otherwise we’re no better off than Russia or China in that regard.

I do not think we will ever know the whole truth even after the enquiry, maybe our great grandchildren may find out once any official secrets embargo time runs out.

Agree but.... it’s not my job to look after the NHS.....it’s their job to look after me! It’s what we have all paid for over many years. The NHS is being turned into a national treasure that we are all expected to make sacrifices and allowances for. NO! Fund it properly so it can do its job.

Yes , and we don't even know if we ARE immune.

But no one is “immune”. Vaccine was never able to offer immunity. It is meant to mean that if we are unlucky enough to contract Covid then less likely to develop serious health issues requiring hospital or even ITU care.Personally I am still and will continue to be cautious. Especially with rigorous washing of hands. A “simple” cold can quickly turn into a serious chest infection in my case. BUT I am grateful for my inoculation especially when so many people around the world are not receiving them.

Sorry , I meant we're not shore if we have any immunity at all , as not giving the test to see if has done so . 🤔🤔

I quite agree. Not everybody is old enough to stay at home. Some people have to earn a living. I personally think if he’d kept the masks in place everywhere and looked after those who are frail we may get somewhere. What he is doing is making it a free for all that is going to take a lot more lives and make a lot of sick people. And!! What’s going to happen when there are loads of people with long covid. Is he going to pay a wage for them to stay home for months, years or maybe forever. I can see him saying they HAVE to work.
