Info comes from a human rights solicitor who is trying to block / get this plan changed to an "opt in" system. His details will not be supplied to any body else. Re: NHS "will never sell your information"... they have built in a clause which says they will not sell your information but will charge third parties for access to your information (legal gymnastics).

Not here to justify anything or to answer questions, all the information is available out those who are interested in protecting their rights. I have simply passed the information on, (the whole situation may well change depending on how many people get the information / react). Believe me, if nobody acts, it will all be implemented very quietly. All have an opportunity, take it if you want. Good luck.

Ive found the tweet I mentioned on your other post from Professor Susan Michie from Sage/Indie Sage:

"It is with a heavy heart that I've opted out of sharing my health data for 'research & planning' via my GP & via NHS digital. I am 100% committed to sharing for research but against allowing Govt this sneaky way of selling our data for private profit. #LoveTheNHS @keepnhspublic"

Susan Michie has said it exactly. I wait to see how it develops now that there is more time

I had a text from my surgery to say that

On 1st July your data will be shared with nhs digital for nhs research and planning . If you want to opt out please click in the link and complete the form online and email/post a copy to your gp by 23 June.

So it looks like your gp should provide the details for you if needed, but looks like you dont have alot of time.

I dont think GPs are obliged to let their patients know about the possibility of opting out. At least there is more time and word is spreading.
